The Genealogist has added 50 Regiments’ Records & Histories to their military records collection, which now covers over 70 different regiments.

The release covers records from the 17th century through to the late 1920s (depending on regiment). They have also uploaded a large number of Regimental Histories that cover World War I and can reveal fascinating details for family historians tracing their ancestors.

Researchers can follow an ancestor’s regiment and explore the battles they took part in as well as trace their movements. These military histories concentrate on a particular regiment, battalion or division. Ancestors who were mentioned in the war movement diaries or listed in the appendices of men and officers of the regiment can also be searched. The histories are compiled from the diaries and papers of the regiment.
